If
volunteering for our rescue interests you, please read through our
"Code of Ethics". This code is to be followed by all volunteers for our
rescue:
Members shall
abide by and uphold the principles of the Constitution and By-laws of
the INKY Rottweiler Rescue (INKY/RR) when engaged in the normal course
of caring for, rescuing, evaluating, transporting, training and/or
rehabilitating rescued Rottweiler's.
Members
shall not knowingly attempt to rescue or represent a dog of mixed
heritage as a purebred Rottweiler. Members evaluating Rottweiler will
attempt, to the best of their abilities to rescue only those dogs who
appear to be purebred Rottweiler's. A member rescuing, rehousing, or
representing a dog of obvious mixed heritage, without prior approval of
the governing members of INKY/RR, will automatically forfeit membership.
Members
shall strive to gain respect for their participation and that of their
fellow members on the foregoing activities and make the best possible
contribution to the improvement of the quality, temperament, health and
welfare of Rottweiler's at all levels.
Members
shall not engage in the breeding, buying or selling of dogs that are
not purebred, either as principal, agent, intermediary or otherwise. A
member becoming engaged in any of these practices shall automatically
forfeit membership. Any member wishing to breed must provide proof to
the governing members of INKY/RR that the dog is titled under the AKC,
having earned a Championship in the breed ring and the minimum of CD in
the obedience ring.
Members
shall keep all dogs under their care in clean, healthy environments and
provide timely prompt health protection for them (ie. worming,
inocculating and necessary veterinary care).
